After the rain everything is washed clean ©Michael G. O'Brien 2013 |
After the rain everything is washed clean by the waters and smells like the earth. These pathways follow the lakeshore over to the point. The fog and rain blanket us in this mystery all night - a solitary runner glides past the empty tennis courts...empty of people at least.
Our eyes adjust to the darkness after twenty minutes, so everything near the light sources is illuminated like daylight but quickly drops off into darkness as we move towards the lake. The feeling is one of having all thoughts, concerns or plans dissolved into a sparkling silence where the only things that mean anything are the sound of waves and the fog. |
